Guests were responsible for bringing a covered dish and something to drink to the dinner lecture. It was a bit different than the usual dinner lecture but fitting…collective and participatory.

Paul Butler, Co-Curator of Open for Making, gave a presentation aboutReverse Pedagogy which was the title of his thematic residency at Banff Centre this past November. His program was one of the inspirations for the exhibition and residency program at Triple Base Gallery called Open For Making: A Residency for Creativity.

Paul Butler is an artist, curator and dealer with an interest in multidisciplinary, social and alternative pedagogical practices. His practice includes hosting the Collage Party, a touring experimental studio established 1997 and directing the operations of The Other Gallery, a nomadic commercial gallery focused on overlooked artists’ practices. In 2007, he founded the Upper Trading Post, an invitational website that facilitates artist trading. His curatorial projects have included works by Matthew Higgs, Mitzi Pederson, DearRaindrop and Guy Maddin.
